Dieter Meinhold – Curriculum Vitae

 

A graduate in Public Management / Administration and Sports Science (M. A.), Dieter Meinhold served as Director Sports of the Qatar Stars League, and as a senior member of an international group of sports business experts, charged with the establishment of professional football structures in Qatar, host of FIFA World Cup™ 2022.

From 2003 through 2006, he was member of the board of Bundesliga member VfL Bochum. In this role, he signed responsible for the professional player department, marketing and public relations. For the seven years prior to this activity, Dieter Meinhold was in charge of the sponsoring communication and product promotion department at Adam Opel AG, Ruesselsheim. During his tenure, the Opel brand was involved as a premium and jersey partner at FC Bayern Muenchen, AC Milan and Paris St. Germain.

From 1994 through 1995, he served as manager sport of the Bundesliga club Karlsruher SC.

Dieter Meinhold launched his professional career at the German Table Tennis Federation from 1986 through 1990. During this tenure, he worked as the general manager organizing committee of the Table Tennis World Cup Dortmund 1989. Thereafter, he served as the general manager of the Table Tennis Marketing GmbH (Ltd.) from 1990 – 1994.

For the areas of sports communication, sponsorship and sport management, Dieter Meinhold received teaching assignments at universities in Tuebingen and Heidelberg, as well as at the European Business School (EBS), Eltville and the SRH College in Heidelberg.

Since his return from Qatar, Dieter Meinhold runs his own business as a Consultant in Sports business.
